    Company Information: Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader in reliability, service and innovation has an opening for an Inventory Control Coordinator to work in our Carmel location.


    Position Summary:

    Accountable for the accuracy of production recording, plant inventory and data integrity.  Leads plant wide cycle count program and assists in production scheduling.  Reviews inventory transactions, work orders, and completes root cause analysis of errors. 

    Physically counts quantities of materials at various stages of inventory and work-in-process to maintain accurate inventory records for production, materials, and inventory planning.  Also reviews and maintains other plant related inventory transactions for accuracy along with review of inactivity inventory as defined by Customer Service, Production, Purchasing, and Warehouse Supervisor.  The individual will assist in developing production schedules and perform projects as assigned by manager.





    Inventory Control:


    1. Follow Horton Company safety policies and procedures.


    1. Administrate plant’s cycle count program for raw, WIP and finish good product.


    1. Perform weekly cycle counts on New Model Development Orders and Engineer Change Notices.


    1. Perform weekly cycle counts on chemical and packaging raw materials.


    1. Audit plant inventory count accuracy.


    1. Data management of part quantities, scrap and production recording.


    1. Research excess and obsolete inventory for disposition.


    1. ERP lead for inventory functions within Oracle, such as inventory adjustments.


    1. Document and management of inventory locations for new parts released.


    1. Lead re-labeling of missed or untagged product.


    1. Keep all shelving and tags properly label and updated in ERP System.


    Production Control:


    1. Assist in scheduling manufacturing operations based on planned inventory and customer demand levels.


    1. Conduct demand analysis and adjust safety stock levels in ERP system.


    1. Assist with internal Kanban and consignment program maintenance.


    1. Set and maintain scheduling parameters in ERP system.


    1. Manage and schedule New or Sample Model requests.


    1. Material planning of assigned commodities.


    1. Participate and complete special projects as assigned by manager.


    1. Perform all other duties as assigned

    Computer terminal, business software, material handling equipment and standard office equipment, forklift operation for moving of inventory.





    Work is indoors, with exposure to both office and plant environments.  The plant is a typical machine shop environment with some exposure to machine noise.  Majority of work will be done in a warehouse setting.





    1. Strength, agility, movement: Work includes frequent handling of handling of inventory (parts) by hands, and fingers for use of a keyboard. Work includes occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials from pallets, baskets, or racks in order to complete inventory counts.  The position requires frequent walking and standing, minimal sitting.
    2. Sensory ability: Good vision is required, particularly near vision for reading job tickets and inventory reports.
    3. Communications: Communication with others is required.
    4. Level of exertion: Work is usually medium, consisting of occasional exertion of up to 60 pounds of force and frequent exertion up to 20 pounds of force.


    1. Reading: The position requires the ability to read short instructions and lists.
    2. Writing: Writing skills are required at a level consistent with recording inventory data.
    3. Verbal Skills: Verbal communication needs to be at a level consistent with providing explanations on non-technical matters.
    4. Math Skills: Math ability needs to be at a level consistent with basic arithmetic.
    5. Reasoning Ability: Reasoning ability needs to be at a level consistent with solving apparent problems through probing, inquiry or research for precise identification, such as identifying reasons for differences that may be found between records and physical inventory. Required actions to confronted problems are very specifically defined and are based on standard procedures.





     Requires 2-4 years of relevant experience. Associates degree in a Business field preferred. Excellent math skills and experience with MRP is needed, Oracle or related experience.







    Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.  Relocation allowance may be provided if the individual has all of the necessary qualifications.
