    Company Information: Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader in reliability, service and innovation has an opening for an Market Intelligence Research and Analysis Manager to work in our Roseville Corporate Headquarters.


    Position Summary: If you love making a big impact by the sheer power of data-based decisions, this is the right job for you. You will help drive the company strategy with your deep market insights and lead a high-performance team of marketing experts to execute it.


    As a market intelligence expert, you will be responsible for enabling market and product strategy by estimating our total addressable market, market share potential and market growth potential. You will work closely with sales and product managers to segment the market verticals by application, and prioritize target segments. You will work with sales to ensure accurate forecasts are presented, and your input to the top management on market-level forecast will enable key planning decisions. More importantly, you will perform initial screening of new product ideas by developing preliminary business cases and work closely with product and finance managers to develop detailed business cases for new product development (NPD) programs.



    Market Segmentation & Targeting 

    • Work closely with product and sales managers to segment the market verticals by application
    • Estimate global market size and expected growth of various application segments using secondary data sources and primary interviews
    • Leverage product managers to assess ability to win based on product and technology fit, competitive landscape, accessibility, etc.
    • Enable global market and product planning by prioritizing target application segments based on the above


    New Product Development 

    • Perform initial screening of new product ideas to ensure only the most attractive ones are selected for further deep dives
    • Aid in roadmap development by developing initial business cases after the deep dives have been completed
    • Develop detailed business case in close coordination with finance and product managers at the launch of new product development cycle; revise at each milestone/checkpoint


    Customer Feedback & Forecasting 

    • Monitor global market trends for both on- and off-highway markets, and provide forecast guidance
    • Work closely with sales teams to ensure that accurate forecasts are loaded in the system periodically; assist when needed
    • Work with outside consulting firm to conduct customer satisfaction survey every two years


    Managerial Responsibilities

    • Manage a global team of marketing experts (pricing, marketing communications, sales tool development)
    • Provide functional guidance to the team and ensure proper work prioritization and resource management
    • Build relationships with the outside marketing and consulting agencies, as well as internal stakeholders
    • Accountable for setting annual goals and measuring performance of the team
    • Provide coaching and mentoring to employees


    This position requires three years of work experience in the areas of Marketing Research, Market Intelligence, Data Analysis or Consulting. A four-year college degree with a preference for business, economics, marketing, math or similar majors that require data-based decision making is required.


    Note: equivalent education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1 year of education.


    Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.  Relocation allowance may be provided if the individual has all of the necessary qualifications.
