  • Overview

    Provide strategic leadership and management of all on-highway Horton fan drive portfolio globally. Responsible for collaborating with sales, engineering and operations to support existing products over their lifecycle. Engage with customers, sales and marketing to identify and champion short- and long-term investments in new products to ensure key customer and market needs are met. Identify growth opportunities within current segments as well as adjacencies, and develop business case for investment.


    Candidate should be experienced and well-grounded in technical background as it pertains to managed products. Solid understanding of the market, its evolution and needs for new products and features is a must. Candidate should be experienced in using Voice of Customer techniques to understand needs for new products and features, and set direction for future product evolution to capture growth opportunities.


    3+ years of product management experience or technical experience in a related product line preferred.


    Global product portfolio strategy

    • Understand customer requirements at a sub-segment level and define a winning product portfolio
    • Develop product roadmaps to ensure targeted segment needs globally are addressed
    • Perform competitive benchmarking to understand positioning; ensure product portfolio provides competitive advantage in targeted segments
    • Seek opportunities in adjacent markets and define product portfolio to drive growth

    Marketing specifications for new products

    • Enable winning value propositions through development of competitive product profiles
    • Leverage new technology developed by R&D to deliver competitive advantage
    • Develop new product proposals and partner with marketing and sales to develop sound business cases

    Product-line management

    • Develop product introduction plan
    • Responsible for managing product costs and recommending cost reduction plans
    • Drive proactive obsolescence of old products to minimize proliferation and profitability
    • Enable prioritization of product changes, including cost reduction projects
    • Track and report the results of approved special projects over time


    This position requires six years of work experience in the areas of Product Management, Sales or Engineering. A four-year college degree with a preference for engineering as a specific background is preferred. Note: equivalent education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1 year of education. Up to 25% travel required.


    Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
