  • Overview

    Performs normal duties as well as lead person duties.  Lead person duties include assisting internal employees and outside customers, engage and direct team with communication on improvement projects, completing documentation, scheduling and leading production, and coordinating training.  Lead person must also maintain a thorough understanding of and adhere to company policies and procedures and give input to area manager as required. Problem solving skills are essential in order to keep plant running in absence of Area Manager

    Responsibilities

     

    1. Must keep a positive attitude at all times, throughout busy times as well as changing priorities
    2. Needs to have the highest standard of confidentiality.
    3. Must be able to remain neutral at all times, and not show favoritism towards any one employee.
    4. Communicate any pertinent information to incoming and outgoing shifts. Leads are to be on the production floor 15 minutes prior to the start of their shift.
    5. Conduct daily shift huddle at the beginning of the shift, to communicate announcements, shift updates as well as communications passed from the Area Manager.
    6. Seeks ways to improve methods, processes and cost improvements. Will also lead their team with improvement projects and provide feedback to Area Managers. 
    7. Must be completely self-directed at all times when the manager is out of the building.  May be asked to fill in as needed in absence of Area Manager.
    8. Assist personnel with equipment operation, equipment malfunctions, missing parts, print and work order questions, etc. by determining appropriate resource to contact for solution. Assist personnel in completing paperwork, etc.
    9. Keeps area manager informed of problems and concerns/issues of department.
    10. Develops, executes and makes adjustments to production schedule as required to meet the needs of internal and external customers; prioritizes jobs and coordinates work assignments; works with inventory processes and makes adjustments as required.
    11. Motivates operators to meet daily demands established by the production schedule. Monitors individual output and provides feedback when applicable.
    12. Addresses non-performance in an appropriate and respectful manner and communicates non-compliance to the Area Manager via verbal, written, or email notification.
    13. Personally and with the assistance of knowledgeable workers provides training and direction relating interaction skills, quality methods and manufacturing processes with the overall goal of improving quality and efficiency.
    14. Consults with the Area Manager to discuss work force availability and schedules/utilizes staff in an effective manner to meet customer needs.
    15. Understands and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures
    16. Ensures that housekeeping activities are maintained consistently and designated work area is kept neat and clean.
    17. Performs duties according to position description of their home area, when not performing lead person duties.

     

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent is required.   Good communication skills both verbally and written.    Attendance, quality, productivity and behavior will also be considered.

     

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

      

    Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.  Relocation allowance may be provided if the individual has all of the necessary qualifications.
