  • Overview


    Engineering Technician will be responsible for a wide range of process improvement activities within the plant. Determine where associates will be utilized in the process of converting raw materials to finished products and how employees can most effectively perform their assigned tasks. Work closely with engineering staff, quality department, sales and outside service vendors to accomplish the objective of lowering costs and increasing reliability in a safe and productive manner.


    1.1  Accountable for the site coordination and compliance to ISO14001 within the Carmel facility.

    1.2  Monthly review of EMS CAR/PARs, aspects log, action items, project goals.

    1.3  Schedule and monitor Legal and Other audits from an outside source (ATC)

    1.4 Internal audit requirements for both the ISO14001 and TS16949 and complete status        report for management review

    2.1  Lead/participate in cost reduction and process improvement events.

    2.2  Work on projects involving new product deployment, improvement to current products, and           products associated with having poor quality issues. Adjust, maintain and troubleshoot          

            production methods to ensure product quality and process efficiency.

    2.3  Create standard operating procedures for manufacturing methods.

    2.4  Responds to requests to diagnose process/equipment that is not functioning properly.

    2.5  Assist maintenance staff with a variety of technical fields, including electrical, hydraulic,         

            mechanical, pneumatic and various sensors.                

    2.6  Provides training and assistance to operators.

    2.7  Assist in ordering parts and supplies to maintain production equipment.

    2.8  Maintain clean and safe work areas.

    2.9  Other duties as assigned.





    1. Strength, agility, movement: Work requires occasional lifting, bending, pulling, climbing, reaching or kneeling. Work includes frequent movement within the facility.  Occasionally, work is in hard to reach locations or requires working in awkward positions.  Occasional climbing and ladder work is required. 


    1. Sensory ability: Hearing must be sufficient to communicate by telephone, vision must be sufficient to read printed reports and items on the computer screen.


    1. Communications: Verbal communication is constant; much of the time is spent exchanging ideas and information with various suppliers and internal departments.


    1. Level of exertion: Work is occasionally heavy, with occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds.





    1. Reading: The position requires reading ability at a level sufficient to read text of considerable difficulty, requiring understanding of complex rules, technical procedures, reports, specifications, manuals or interpretations.
    2. Writing: Writing skills are required at a level consistent with basic communication.
    3. Verbal Skills: The position requires verbal skills at a level consistent with providing clear and concise information on technical matters.
    4. Mathematical Ability: Math ability needs to be at a level consistent with calculating rates and proportions.
    5. Reasoning Ability: Reasoning ability needs to be at a level consistent with solving apparent problems through well established procedures.  Requires some independent judgment, as when dealing with safety issues or vendors.




    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Position requires a high school diploma, or equivalent, plus 2 years or more of related manufacturing experience.
