Overview

Company Information: Horton, Inc., a global airflow industry leader in reliability, service and innovation has an opening for a Stamping Operator to work in our Westminster, SC location. This is a 3rd shift position and standard  hours are from 9:30 pm to 7:30 am Sunday-Wednesday. Overtime will be required, as needed. The pay grade starts at $19.51 per hour and salary is based on experience. There is also a shift premium of $1.00 per hour. Position Information: This position reports directly to the Supervisor and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is primarily responsible working with metal fan blades, small and large laminate. Must be able to work with hand tools and other machinery such as a riveter.

Responsibilities

Stamping Operator Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
  • Complete all departmental paperwork, such as routings, assembly tickets, downtime tracking sheets, and daily checklists. 
  • Assemble product as instructed on work instructions or routings.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of machinery used for pre-assembly components.
  • Perform frequent quality checks using inspection tools such as gauges, micrometers and/or calipers.
  • Obtain first piece and last piece buyoff from the Quality department.
  • Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift. Make sure each shift does a first piece or a continual run.
  • Use machinery to Stamp, form, roll, and/or emboss per work instructions/routing/blueprints.
  • Ability to read routing sheets to identify raw material to be used to stamp the product.
  • Must know the difference between clockwise and counterclockwise for item to be made correctly.
  • Ability to determine correct die set for the product they will be stamping.
  • May be required to set up roller or emboss machine if the job requires use of this equipment.
  • Will be required to change out die sets in the presses in a timely manner.
  • Maintain production rate on each job.
  • Communication throughout shift to Lead/Supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Stamping Operator Qualifications:

  • Previous relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to work well in a group and individually.
  • Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required.
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift- 9:30 pm - 7:30 am, Sunday-Wednesday, with overtime, as needed.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
