Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Material Handler (Temp assignment) to work in our Westminster, SC location. This is a 3rd shift position and standard work hours are Sunday-Wednesday 9:30 pm - 7:30 am. Occasional overtime may be required. This assignment is expected to last no longer than 6 months.

Material Handler Position Information:

This position reports directly to the Materials Manager and must work in coordination with co-workers to be effective. This position is primarily responsible for the movement of materials throughout the plant.

Material Handler Responsibilities:

• Maintain production by keeping materials stocked to each assigned area as needed by the operators. 
• Includes raw materials, skids, totes, bins and any other materials as needed.
• Will move and assist in changes of dies as needed. 
• Move WIP and finished products to appropriate areas as needed by the operators. 
• Store and retrieve all WIP in the proper locations with the proper identification
• Move all stock to the warehouse and place in correct warehouse locations. 
• Notify warehouse personnel of material shortages as needed.
• Cycle counts or weigh counts of particular materials as needed.
• Keep production areas clear of material, finished products, tubs, skids and any other items that may need to be moved. 
• May also fill in as needed in production areas.
• Must complete all safety checks when needed including daily forklift checklists.
• Will empty scrap containers as needed to appropriate locations.
• Paperwork and computer transactions when required.
• As with everyone on the team, other duties may be assigned to support the overall success of the company.

Material Handler Qualifications:

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. 
• Ability to work well in a group and individually. 
• Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required. 
• Ability to safely drive forklift and obtain certification. 
• Ability to do paperwork needed for the job. 
• Must be able to support production and work well with people.    
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship available for this position.
