Overview

Horton, Inc. has an opening for a Logistics and Compliance Specialist to work at our location in Roseville, MN. This job is onsite Monday-Friday.

 

Position Summary:

The Logistics and Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that all aspects of the company’s supply chain operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory, environmental, and international trade regulations. This position is responsible for coordinating shipments, maintaining logistics data, and ensuring compliance with trade, customs, materials, and environmental regulations. The specialist serves as a key liaison between internal departments, external partners, and regulatory agencies to minimize risks and improve operational performance. This role also manages Quick Ship Warehouse scheduling.

Responsibilities

Logistics and Compliance Specialist Responsibilities:

 

Compliance Coordination

  • Ensure compliance with global materials and chemical regulations such as RoHS, REACH, TSCA, Conflict Minerals, and California Proposition 65.
  • Partner with third party vendors to collect, validate, and maintain supplier material declarations and compliance documentation (e.g., Full Material Declarations, Safety Data Sheets, Certificates of Compliance).
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable trade laws, import/export regulations, and customs requirements.
  • Maintain and update compliance documentation, including shipping records, licenses, and certifications.
  • Apply system changes in international trade laws, such as Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) reassignments provided by the Logistics and Compliance Manger, updates to countries of origin obtained from vendors, etc.
  • Assist with conducting internal audits to verify adherence to company policies and external regulations.

 

Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and optimal routing.
  • Support the implementation of logistics systems and tools to enhance visibility and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to align supply chain activities with business needs.
  • Maintain Quick Ship Warehouse (QSW) scheduling and training materials.
  • Other duties as assigned, to help support the business.

Qualifications

Logistics and Compliance Specialist Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, a business or technical field.
  • 2 years minimum work experience in materials or product compliance, preferably in manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, or automotive industries.
  • Experience working with global supply chains and product compliance databases.
  • Experience with environmental and product-related regulations (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, SCIP, PFAS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with import/export regulations, incoterms, and customs documentation.
  • Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) is preferred
  • IPC-1752 or IMDS Certification is preferred
  • ISO 14001 Environmental Management knowledge or certification is preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided now or in the future for this position.

Additional Information:

The estimated hiring range for this position is $70,000 - $95,000 per year plus bonus. Compensation will increase within the range based on experience and qualifications.
